Ronnie Brown - RB - Dolphins Ronnie Brown better on more carries
He's averaging just 4.2 YPC in games he's seen fewer than 20 attempts. Ricky Williams, meanwhile, is averaging 6.2 YPC in games he's carried it 10 or fewer times to 4.4 in weeks he's gotten 15 or more totes. There's no doubt that Brown is better when he's getting the rock more, but his carry total depends on how many offensive plays Miami can run in a given week. October 10

</TD></TR><TR><TD vAlign=top colSpan=3>FOX Sports' Jay Glazer reports that the Dolphins are "worried" about a foot injury that Ronnie Brown suffered in Sunday's win over Tampa.
Glazer's report indicates that Brown has two injuries -- one to his ankle and one to his foot. He definitely won't play Thursday at Carolina, but his status beyond that is completely up in the air. A mid-foot sprain could cost Brown several games. Ricky Williams is suddenly an every-week RB2 in fantasy.

</TD></TR><TR><TD vAlign=top colSpan=3>Dolphins coach Tony Sparano says he is "completely comfortable" using Ricky Williams as an every-down back with Ronnie Brown (foot/ankle) out.
Ricky can handle direct snaps in the Wildcat, is averaging 5.3 YPC with seven all-purpose scores on the season, and doesn't limit anything the Fins do in their base offense. He'll start and be a safe bet for 20 touches Thursday night against a Panthers defense that ranks 25th against the run and was gashed for 204 total yards and a touchdown by Atlanta's running backs in Week 10.

Brown went to see a foot specialist Wednesday, with the Dolphins showing serious concern over the injury. Ricky Williams will start against Carolina, and he brings RB1 value against a defense that was shredded by Michael Turner and Jason Snelling last week. Lex Hilliard will be active as Williams' backup.

The extent of Brown's foot injury still hasn't been revealed, but the Fins wouldn't have ended his season so early if it wasn't significant. A Lisfranc fracture requiring surgery could jeopardize his availability for 2010 training camp. In standard leagues, Brown has been the No. 8 overall fantasy RB with eight all-purpose touchdowns, 746 total yards, and a rock-solid 4.4 YPC in nine starts. With no CBA on the horizon, Brown's 2010 option will likely kick in, keeping him in Miami. He's due $5 million in salary next year.

The break will likely require surgery and bring into question Brown's status for 2010 training camp. By late July, he'll be seven months removed from the injury. A source tells Darlington that the mid-foot fracture isn't "anything major as far as career or long term," but Brown will likely miss all of OTA season. Noted Dr. Robert Anderson will decide whether Brown needs an operation.
